Hello, I am Chef Bijo, the heart and soul behind Calvary Catering, a family-owned business specializing in homemade global cuisine. My deepest passion is to introduce South Indian cooking to the region, creating awareness about the diverse culinary traditions of India, with a special focus on Keralan cuisine.
My journey began in Kottayam, where I watched my grandmother lovingly prepare meals for people from all walks of life, following the Sanskrit tradition: “Treat your guests like God.” This philosophy stayed with me, leading me to pursue Hospitality Management in Bangalore, followed by a career with prestigious hotels such as Hilton, Marriott, and TAJ Groups in both India and the UK.
Despite my corporate experience, I longed to share my personal vision and heritage through my own firm. Thus, Calvary Catering & Events was born.
Through Calvary Events, I bring a unique blend of traditional and modern techniques to the world of Kerala’s west coast and central Travancore cuisine. Our aim is to preserve the authentic flavors while incorporating contemporary twists that enhance the overall dining experience.
